Walk into any chemist from Delhi to Bengaluru and there is now a shelf of them: bright tubes of tablets that turn a glass of water into a fizzing drink.
Fair question, then: is the fizz real science, or theatre for people who dislike capsules?

How do effervescent tablets work?
An effervescent tablet is citric acid and sodium bicarbonate pressed together with the active ingredients into one dry tablet. Dry, the two cannot react.
